Fish Eye LensA fisheye lens is a camera lens that shows a picture a little differently than a regular lens. It is a wide angle lens that will capture a very wide image. There are 2 types of fisheye lenses, which can be pickup up in a local camera shop. Here are some of the commonalities and some of the differences. Circular Lens The circular lens has a 180 degree vertical, diagonal and horizontal view. When projected it results in a round image on 35mm film. This is the first fisheye lens to be created. Full-Frame Lens The full-frame lens is as exactly what the name says. It is a fisheye lens that covers the whole 35mm frame. It has a 180 degree diagonal field view. The vertical view is 90 degrees. There is a miniature fisheye lens that is used for mainly commercial purposes. It is used for security cameras. The fisheye lens is the perfect lens to take pictures under water. Having a lens of this nature will bring out the center focal point as well as picking up the surrounds in the picture. |

Fish Eye Lens
What photographers are finally realizing is that the lesser-used fish eye lens offers intriguing effects of a 180-degree viewpoint. Though the fish eye was initially designed for shooting cloud formations and other meteorological curiosities, the lenses now come in two formats: circular and full-frame lenses.
