Fisheye Lens
Fisheye Lenses specialize in wide-range photography and originally created for meteorologist. The lenses helped study the formation of clouds. There are three types of fisheye lenses. The miniature fisheye lens, the circular lens and the full-frame lens are different types currently available.
When considering what type of fisheye lens you would like to purchase, study the feature that each have to offer. The Miniature Fisheye Lenses are for small imagers. They are mostly used in security cameras or consumer cameras. The Full-Frame Fisheye Lenses are designed to give a full wide angle view. Used mostly by photographers, it has 180 degree diagonal angle with smaller vertical and horizontal view. The vertical view is 94 degrees and the horizontal is 147 degrees. And the Circular Fisheye Lenses take small circular images that leave the corners of the image dark. The frames are a 180 degrees hemisphere with equal degrees vertically, horizontally and diagonally.
There are also fisheye lenses that have been developed especially for extreme sports. Special lenses are available for snowboarding, BMX, skateboarding among others.
