Nikon Fish Eye
A Fish Eye lens can become a unique addition to any photographer’s bag of tricks. Fish Eye lenses were created originally for instances where the widest possible field of vision was needed, things like weather or astrology photography. An amateur photographer will find that this type of lens can give their landscape pictures a truly unique look.
Fish Eye lenses bend and distort the edges of pictures, so when used for a landscape you get the feel of the horizon bending with the curvature of the Earth. When a person's face is photographed you get the “nose-centric” view you might see when peering out of a peephole in a door.
Nikon offers a wide range of Fish Eye lenses, ranging from inexpensive lens that come with beginner accessory kits to powerful lens that give full 180 degree views. Expense will be a principal concern for most buyers, and the rule of thumb with Fish Eye lenses is that there will be less distortion with a higher priced lens. There are programs that can be added to most photo editing software that can help clear up much of the distortion. Nikon lenses are famous for their quality and adaptors are available to fit them to most other brands of cameras.
